Whether enjoyed at home or in a favorite restaurant, food plays
a starring role in our lives, and for most of us, the quality
and variety of our food is no small matter. It should be no
surprise, then, that one of the highlights of life at Cedarfield
is the dining experience.
Cedarfield offers new items daily and a variety of foods
that is constantly changing. The menu changes weekly, offering
a blend of home cooking, ethnic specialties, nouveau cuisine,
seasonal, and specialty items. “The biggest challenge
we have is to keep things interesting,” says David Stuart,
director of Dining Services. “For example, our executive
chef plans two different homemade soups each day, as well
as two daily specials in seated service.”
Originally, seated service was the only dining option at Cedarfield. But in response to residents’ request, a buffet was introduced as an alternative to seated service. The buffet offers a quick and more casual dining option. Other quick and convenient dining options include Take Out Meal Service and our latest program, Meals To Go.
Residents receive 30 meals per month per person as a part
of their contracted service. Meals may be used at anytime
within a particular month. Additionally, if a resident is
away from the community seven days or more, meal credits will
be earned.
